Solidarity Series - Justice for Colombia

About The Course

Solidarity is a key founding principle of the General Federation of Trade Unions and our Educational Trust. Through this series, we will explore domestic and international campaign groups, organisations and unions that help us think about and deliver solidarity that matters.

Join this series and help build a stronger union movement across our country and beyond.

Justice for Colombia was founded in 2003 and is the official campaign of the British and Irish trade union movement to support social justice, human rights and peace in Colombia. JFC works closely with trade unions, social organisations and community activists in Colombia to build international support for peace, as well as to address historic state violence and an end to persecution of trade unionists and activists. JFC also promotes links of solidarity between British and Irish trade unions and organisations in Colombia and through its work in the British, Irish and EU Parliaments.   Several GFTU unions are affiliated to JFC and their members have visited Colombia on JFC delegations, while also welcoming Colombian speakers to their conferences and campaigning on core issues of human rights and peace.
