Women Voices in Challenging the Far-Right

About The Course

This course is designed to build women’s leadership in challenging far-right narratives in the workplace and wider community. It brings together women trade unionists to develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to organise, respond, and lead. Delivered by the General Federation of Trade Unions Educational Trust in partnership with migrant women’s organisations, Abortion Talk, SOAS University of London, and data specialists Bombe.io, the course combines cutting-edge research with practical organising experience.

Participants will explore new data on the rise of the far right, including postcode level trends and the social, economic, and media-driven factors behind its growth. The course will examine how misogyny – particularly online cultures such as the “manosphere”- intersects with far-right politics, and how these ideas shape attitudes in workplaces and communities.

Through interactive sessions, participants will challenge myths around migration, understand the real causes of economic insecurity, and explore how narratives around “protecting women” are used to divide working people.

A key focus is on action: developing the skills to lead conversations on difficult issues, including misogyny and reproductive rights, and building solidarity across communities.

By the end of the course, participants will be part of a growing network of women activists working collectively to challenge division and strengthen the movement.
